A reader needs a dictionary

Now that Z is plowing through a chapter book a day (Judy Moody and these stupid fairy books are her favs), I figured she could use a dictionary. Her teacher recommended one with a lot of pictures.

Z immediately started leafing through her first reference book and wrote this note:

The reverse side reads "Words I naw" and lists L-words she knows.

Even with the internet, there's nothing like having a dictionary in hand. Congrats on all the words she "naws!"

As you know, we've only had it for one day, but I was elated when Julian said he wanted to find the word "draw" and then he wrote it down "D-R-A" on a piece of paper so he wouldn't forget what he was looking for. When he found and recognized the word in his dictionary, he said, "Oh, there's a W!" and corrected his piece of paper.

We bought the Dr. Suess dictionery for the girls. It's fabulous fun and educational.
