Anyway, I could brag about how much more Chicago and indie cred Pitchfork has over Lolla, but that ink's been spilled before.
Instead, I'm going to insist you check out photographer Ryan Hodgson-Rigsbee's latest issue of Urban Nature, which includes lots of beautiful, moody pictures from Pitchfork. And, if you check out the outtakes, you'll see this picture of A, backstage in the rain.

Compare, if you will, with my photos from the fest.

We took our three-month-old, along with his headphones. I saw tons of kids at Pitchfork, and a staggering number of them lacked any ear protection. Yikes.
@Shylo Good for you for setting a good example. Our children weren't wearing any ear protection. We used to be much better about it, but this time we forgot. Fortunately since Josh writes for Pitchfork we were backstage and it is much quieter behind the speakers.
In fact, I never even had to raise my voice to speak over the music.
That's awesome! And your kids are a little older, but seeing babies get blasted with the noise and the bass was tough. My kid slept through Matt & Kim.
